MY STORY

I trained in BSc Sports Science and Nutrition at the University of Surrey, UK followed with two years as a personal fitness trainer at the Harbour Club, Chelsea in London. After 20 years in Africa and a move to Denmark, I completed a City and Guilds Nutrition Diploma focusing on weight management and nutrition, child nutrition and obesity, nutrition for sports and exercise and behaviour change.

During my 20 years based in Kenya, I worked in 13 countries in East and Central Africa for the food and nutrition agencies of the United Nations (World Food Programme WFP and Food and Agriculture Organisation FAO), UNICEF, International NGOs (Oxfam, Save the Children, The Red Cross) and National Governments. I worked with vulnerable communities in war zones and famine crises, assessing seasonal food needs and advising humanitarian and development agencies and Government on food aid, nutrition support, agriculture strategies and policy to support early warning for climate change and early appropriate response.

In 2014 I moved to Denmark where I continued consultancy work for nutrition international humanitarian and development partners whilst at the same time started working with clients – mainly in mid-life who struggle with weight management issues and low energy levels. Many complain of symptoms associated with hormone imbalance and based on this I started researching into the science behind the hormones that affect women at different stages of their life. I began to develop programmes on how to use different food, herbs, natural supplements and essential oils to support the entire endocrine system.
